🇺🇸☕ Coffee & Conversation – Thursday, June 25, 2026 ☕🇺🇸Another wonderful Thursday morning was shared at the Carlton R. Rouh Veterans Center, where veterans, volunteers, and friends gathered for our weekly Coffee & Conversation hosted by the Spectracare Foundation.Every Thursday, Coffee & Conversation is more than just coffee and breakfast—it is an opportunity for veterans to connect with one another, share experiences, build lasting friendships, and find support in a welcoming environment. These weekly gatherings help reduce isolation, promote emotional well-being, and remind every veteran that they are part of a community that truly cares. This week, we were delighted to celebrate Tom Cullen’s birthday, along with all of our June birthdays! 🎉 Happy Birthday to each of you! We wish you continued good health, happiness, and many blessings in the year ahead. We also extend a warm welcome to veteran Josephine Grey. It was a pleasure meeting you, and we look forward to having you join us again at future Coffee & Conversation gatherings. Welcome to the Spectracare family!Following Coffee & Conversation, everyone gathered outside for a special and patriotic ceremony as we proudly raised the new American Flag and the new POW/MIA Flag on the center’s flagpole. The previous flags had been respectfully retired earlier, and this week’s flag raising marked the beginning of a new chapter as these beautiful new flags now fly proudly over the Carlton R. Rouh Veterans Center. The American Flag represents the freedom, courage, and sacrifices of those who have served our nation. The POW/MIA Flag stands as a powerful reminder that we must never forget those who were prisoners of war or those who remain missing in action. Together, these flags symbolize our enduring commitment to honoring all who have served and sacrificed for our country.A special thank you to Ted Gallagher for sharing his thoughtful and inspiring words during the flag-raising ceremony. His heartfelt remarks reminded us of the true meaning of patriotism, service, remembrance, and the importance of preserving the legacy of those who have worn our nation’s uniform. Thank you, Ted, for helping make this ceremony so meaningful.Thank you to everyone who participated in this memorable event and helped honor our nation’s heroes. Moments like these strengthen the bonds within our veteran community and remind us why we gather each week—to support one another, celebrate one another, and never forget those who have served.🇺🇸 Holiday Notice 🇺🇸In celebration of Independence Day and the Fourth of July, the Carlton R. Today, on National PTSD Awareness Day, the Spectracare Foundation proudly stands with the brave men and women who have served our nation and continue to fight battles that many cannot see.Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is an invisible wound that affects countless veterans. While the scars may not be visible, the pain, anxiety, depression, isolation, and emotional struggles are very real. PTSD does not define our veterans, and no one should ever have to face it alone. At the Spectracare Foundation, we believe that healing happens through connection, purpose, education, and community. That belief is at the heart of everything we do at the Carlton R. Rouh Veterans Center.Every week, veterans walk through our doors knowing they will find something priceless—a place where they are understood, respected, and welcomed by fellow veterans and caring volunteers.Through our many wellness and enrichment programs, we help veterans reconnect with themselves and with others. Our programs include:🇺🇸 Weekly Coffee & Conversation – Building friendships, reducing isolation, and creating a strong support network.🎨 Healing Arts – Encouraging creativity as a healthy outlet for stress, anxiety, and emotional healing through painting, crafts, and artistic expression.📸 Healing Photography – Helping veterans see the world through a new lens, encouraging mindfulness, focus, creativity, and appreciation of life’s beauty.🌱 Seeds of Change Gardening – Connecting veterans with nature, teaching healthy living, reducing stress, and providing the therapeutic benefits of gardening.👨‍🍳 Culinary Arts – Bringing veterans together through cooking, nutrition education, teamwork, and shared meals that foster fellowship.🐴 Equine Therapy – Partnering with rescued horses to help veterans build trust, confidence, emotional regulation, and resilience through powerful human-animal connections.🧠 Mental Health Education and Wellness Programs – Providing valuable resources, information, and access to services that help veterans understand PTSD, recognize warning signs, and know they are never alone. These programs do much more than fill a calendar—they create hope. They build friendships. They restore confidence. They reduce isolation. They remind every veteran that they still have purpose, value, and a community that genuinely cares.Healing from PTSD is a journey, not a destination. Every conversation, every smile, every class, every volunteer, and every shared experience becomes another step toward recovery. To every veteran living with PTSD:You are not weak. You are not forgotten. You are not alone. There is hope. There is healing. There is a community ready to walk beside you every step of the way.Today, we also extend our heartfelt gratitude to our volunteers, instructors, community partners, donors, and supporters who make these life-changing programs possible. Because of your generosity and compassion, lives are being transformed every day.Together, we will continue to fight the invisible wounds of war with understanding, compassion, education, and hope.💚 If you know a veteran who could benefit from our programs, invite them to visit the Carlton R. Rouh Veterans Center. Sometimes, the first step toward healing is simply walking through the door.#NationalPTSDAwarenessDay #PTSDAwareness #Veterans #VeteranSupport #MentalHealthMatters #HealingTogether #Hope #Community #SpectracareFoundation #CarltonRRouhVeteransCenter #NoVeteranAlone #ServingThoseWhoServed See MoreSee Less
