📸 Photography with Tom MacPherson – June 26, 2025at the Carlton R. Rouh Veterans CenterFollowing Thursday’s Coffee and Conversation, veterans enjoyed an engaging photography session with Tom MacPherson. This week, Tom focused on portrait mode using cell phones — a favorite tool for capturing personal and powerful images.Tom explained how portrait mode helps blur the background to bring sharp focus to the subject, creating a professional-looking photo right from your phone. Veterans practiced finding the right lighting, angles, and depth-of-field effects that make portraits stand out — all without needing fancy equipment.Thank you, Tom, for showing us how everyday devices can become creative tools, and for helping our veterans tell their stories through powerful portraits.#SpectracareFoundation #VeteransHealingArts #PortraitMode #PhonePhotography #VeteransSupport #CarltonRRouhVeteransCenter #CoffeeAndConversation See MoreSee Less

🇺🇸 National PTSD Awareness Day – June 27th 🇺🇸From all of us at the Spectracare Foundation, we pause today to recognize and honor those who live with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) — especially our veterans and service members who have sacrificed so much for our nation.Established by Congress in 2010, National PTSD Awareness Day is observed every year on June 27th, the birthday of Staff Sergeant Joe Biel, a National Guard member who took his life after struggling with PTSD following two tours in Iraq. This day serves as a powerful reminder of the invisible wounds of war and trauma, and the importance of raising awareness, breaking the stigma, and offering compassionate support.💙 PTSD can affect anyone who has experienced trauma, but veterans are particularly vulnerable due to the intense and often repeated exposure to combat and life-threatening events. The Spectracare Foundation is committed to supporting the mental and emotional well-being of our heroes through healing arts, holistic wellness, and community-based care.Let’s come together to raise awareness, offer hope, and extend a hand to those who need it most. Healing is possible, and no one should have to walk this journey alone.#PTSDawareness #NationalPTSDAwarenessDay #SupportOurVeterans #SpectracareFoundation #HealingIsPossible #InvisibleWounds #VeteransMentalHealth #carltonrrouhveteranscenter See MoreSee Less
