Sarge the Service Dog
Last Thursday, May 7th, our weekly Coffee and Conversation at the Carlton R. Rouh Veterans Center was filled with fellowship, gratitude, and meaningful connections among veterans, volunteers, and honored guests.![]()
We were privileged to welcome Matt Ellison from The Patriot Fund, Inc. The Spectracare Foundation is proud to be an operational partner of The Patriot Fund, Inc., and we are deeply grateful for their continued support over the last several years as we work together to serve our nation’s heroes.![]()
As a Public Foundation, The Patriot Fund is dedicated to being a vehicle of support for veterans and their families. They believe in keeping donors informed by sharing stories and results that demonstrate the life-changing impact of their contributions. The Patriot Fund partners with veteran-centric nonprofit organizations that are making a substantial difference in the lives of veterans, while also helping connect operational partners with their generous donor base. We are thankful for their continued belief in our mission and the veterans we proudly serve.![]()
We were also honored by visits from Dr. Martin Forsberg and Emily Balog, whose continued support and interest in our veterans center mean so much to all of us. It is always a pleasure to welcome such distinguished guests who take the time to connect with our veterans and learn more about the work being done at the center.![]()
A special thank-you goes out to Commander Joseph “Grizz” Merimonde for generously donating a new American flag for our flagpole at the center. We also want to thank Tom Cullen for donating a beautiful Bennington Flag. The Bennington Flag is one of the most recognized historic American flags, believed to date back to the Revolutionary War era. It is known for its distinctive “76” in the canton, representing the year 1776 and America’s fight for independence. The flag stands as a powerful symbol of patriotism, sacrifice, and the enduring spirit of freedom that our veterans have defended throughout history.![]()
Thank you to everyone who continues to support the mission of the Spectracare Foundation and the veterans we proudly serve each week. Together, we continue building a strong community where veterans know they are appreciated, respected, and never forgotten.![]()

Our Community Salutes – 18th Annual High School Enlistee Recognition Ceremony 2026. Local High School students that enlisted in the military were honored as well as Veterans in the audience.
This Sunday, May 10th, 2026, the Spectracare Foundation proudly honors all mothers on Mother’s Day — especially our military mothers, veteran mothers, and first responder mothers who continue to serve, protect, support, and inspire others every single day.![]()
A mother’s love is one of the strongest forces in the world. It brings comfort during difficult times, strength during challenges, and hope when it is needed most. Whether serving our nation, caring for fellow veterans, protecting our communities, or supporting their families at home, mothers make countless sacrifices that often go unseen.![]()
Today we recognize the courage, compassion, resilience, and unconditional love that mothers share with their families and communities. Your dedication does not go unnoticed, and your impact reaches far beyond words.![]()
From all of us at Spectracare Foundation and the Carlton R. Rouh Veterans Center, thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and the love you give so freely.![]()

On Friday, May 8th, 2026, we honor Military Spouse Appreciation Day — a day dedicated to recognizing the strength, sacrifice, and unwavering support of military spouses across our nation.![]()
Military spouses serve in their own unique way. They stand beside their loved ones through deployments, long separations, uncertainty, relocations, and the many challenges that military life brings. While their sacrifices are often unseen, their dedication helps keep military families strong and our service members focused on their mission.![]()
This special day was first recognized in 1984 by President Ronald Reagan to honor the commitment and contributions of military spouses. Since then, the Friday before Mother’s Day has been observed each year as Military Spouse Appreciation Day.![]()
Today, the Spectracare Foundation proudly thanks all military spouses for their courage, resilience, compassion, and endless support. Your love and sacrifice make a difference not only in the lives of your families, but in the lives of veterans and communities everywhere.![]()
To every military spouse — thank you for your service to our nation and for the strength you show every single day. 🇺🇸![]()
